EAST GOSHEN TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A woman is dead and a 9-year-old girl is in the hospital after a shooting at a condominium complex on Friday in Chester County.
Officers were called to the 400 building of the Summit House condos in East Goshen Township just before 11 a.m.

According to police, officers arrived to find the girl with a gunshot wound. She was conscious and able to talk to the officers, police say.
Officers then located a woman in her 40s dead from a gunshot wound inside the residence.
In an update issued on Monday, the Chester County District Attorney's Office said the shooting is being investigated as a suicide that also resulted in the 9-year-old being struck by gunfire.
The girl was taken to the hospital for treatment. She was continuing to recover from her injuries as of Monday.
The crime scene outside stretched throughout the development.
"No family, no community is immune to the effects of gun violence," Chester County D.A. Christopher De Barrena-Sarobe said.
Neighbors tell Action News a temporary shelter-in-place was issued for the surrounding residents, with managers calling what happened a crisis in the Kimberton Building.
They shut down the pool and activities at the clubhouse but, police say, that was just out of an abundance of caution.
"I want to point out that at no time was there an active threat to community members of Summit House Complex," said Chief David Leahy of the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department.
The identity of the woman who died has not been released.
